Company Data Advisors

Who’s buying company data, and what each buyer looks for.

A handful of companies now pay businesses to license their internal records — email, chat, tickets, CRM history, documents and code — to train AI. Their criteria differ more than their marketing suggests. This page sets them side by side, using what each buyer publishes about itself.

Checked October 28, 2026. Programs change often; check the buyer’s own page before you rely on any detail. Participating buyers may pay us referral fees. Read the disclosure.

The programs, compared

“Not stated” means the buyer’s page doesn’t say. It doesn’t mean there is no requirement.

Why timing matters right now.

This is a young market and it is moving fast. A company that fits a program today may not fit next quarter, and what a buyer offers can change while you wait.

  1. 01

Demand for companies’ internal records appeared suddenly last year, as AI labs ran into the limits of public and synthetic data.

MIT Technology Review, October 13, 2026

  2. 02

Buyer quotes vary widely. There are no published benchmarks for what this data is worth, so prices rest on each buyer’s own research bets.

MIT Technology Review, October 13, 2026

  3. 03

Reporting expects prices to settle over the coming year as the market matures.

  4. 04

Some budgets have an end date: micro1 announced its buying program in October 2026 as a 12-month commitment.

Each program in more detail

micro1

Company Data Partnerships

Licenses operational data from established companies and de-identifies it to build training environments for AI agents.

  • Discovery and pricing, then contracting, then delivery and acceptance, then payment.
  • micro1 says companies keep ownership of their data and raw data is deleted on an agreed schedule or on request.

micro1 may pay us a referral fee if you register through this link. It doesn’t change what micro1 offers you, and you can register directly instead.

Mercor

Mercor Data

Pays companies for real-world workflow data, extracted and de-identified from the tools they already use, for frontier AI research.

  • Mercor says the more tools you share, the higher the payout.
  • Mercor says there are no upfront costs, setup fees or deductions.
  • Unlike our intake, Mercor’s process asks you to connect your accounts. Check what you are authorized to share first.

SimpleClosure

AssetHub

A marketplace from a company that helps startups wind down. It sells or licenses code and workspace data to a network of buyers rather than buying it itself.

  • SimpleClosure describes its buyers as AI foundation labs, builders of training environments and other technology companies.
  • Its fees are not shown on the page.

Also named in reporting

These companies have been reported as buyers, but we haven’t been able to confirm a program on their own sites, so they aren’t in the table.

  • Turing (“Project Lazarus”)

    Not confirmed with the buyer

Reported to acquire operating records from live and winding-down companies, including code, chat, email, documents and support history. We could not find Turing’s own program page.

    aitrainer.work (independent guide, not Turing)

  • Surge AI

    Not confirmed with the buyer

Buys workplace archives to build training environments for AI agents, and wants records that show disagreements and judgment calls.

MIT Technology Review, October 13, 2026

  • Google

    Not confirmed with the buyer

Won the bankruptcy auction for Spirit Airlines’ business records, ahead of Mercor. The sale had not been approved by the court as of our check, and micro1 filed a competing bid.

MIT Technology Review, October 13, 2026

  • Mode

    Not confirmed with the buyer

Reported to be pitching law firms on licensing their historical operational records to AI labs.

    Bloomberg Law, October 19, 2026

Before you register with anyone.

  • Check you’re allowed to share it.

Customer, vendor and employment contracts can restrict what you license, even after de-identification.

  • Think about the people in the records.

Email and chat archives describe employees and customers. Buyers say they remove personal information, but you should know what goes in.

  • Compare more than one program.

Criteria, handover methods and payment terms differ. A company that doesn’t fit one buyer may fit another.

  • Get the terms in writing.

Exclusivity, how long the license runs, deletion and who the data can be passed to all belong in the contract.

Not sure which program fits?

Tell us about your company in a short profile. We’ll say plainly which programs may be a fit and which won’t, and help you move quickly on the ones that are. Nothing is shared with a buyer until you approve that specific, named buyer.
